Introduction: Today, dentistry is specially extended, which is due to the specialization of different branches of dentistry and students’ tendency toward specialty courses; ergo, the current study was designed to investigate the tendency of and Fisher exact test<span style="font-family:;" dir="RTL" new="" b="" roman";"="" "times="" roman";="" nazanin";="" 12pt;="" 11.0pt;="" lang="AR-SA">.

Results: The majority of students (76.2%) were interested in continuing their specialized education. The students mentioned that obtaining higher clinical skills and knowledge, higher social opportunities, and more and better job opportunities were the most important factors in their tendency toward continuing specialized education. Inclination to work after graduation and tiredness of education were the most important factors of disinterests in continuing specialized education. Specialty fields which seemed most interesting to the students involved: Orthodontics (3.77%), Operative dentistry (4.34%), Endodontics (4.37%).

Conclusion: The findings of the present study revealed that the majority of dentistry students are interested in higher education to obtain higher clinical skills and knowledge as well as better social opportunities; and orthodontics was the first choice for most of them.
